OUR BACKYARD

We are truly blessed to have grown up in this beautiful region. Breathtaking views surround our every moment with endless outdoor fun all year round. We are located between Boone and West Jefferson in a little town called Deep Gap. There appears to be nothing here in Deep Gap, but the history runs deep.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is literally our backyard and we can walk to it in minutes. Many members of our neighboring family properties actually go right along the parkway. The cascade falls are a few miles away and there are numerous sites to see including Grandfather mountain, which you have a clear view of right off your front porch.

THE HIGH COUNTRY

Sitting atop the highest elevations in North Carolina’s northern Blue Ridge Mountains, this region is a winter sports haven. But High Country towns like Boone and Blowing Rock delight in every season, with rhododendron hikes in spring, mile-high adventure in summer and brilliant foliage in fall.

This area is a wonderful place to visit with three ski resorts in the winter, temperate summers, vibrant springs and beautiful scenery in the fall. The High Country includes 100 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway and popular tourist destinations: Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Linville, Wilkesboro, Valle Crucis, Ski Sugar, Ski Beech and 16 area golf courses.

AROUND THE FARM

Around the rentals there's a mountain top that offers even higher views in which you can see even more breathtaking views. We also have a natural spring down at the bottom of the road to walk up and play in. Over the mountain in the next valley over is the original family farm house that can also be rented and another unique cabin. Here we have some more hiking trails and a larger creek with little waterfalls.

WINTER SPORTS

This area of the Appalachian Mountains has the highest elevation. There are 4 total ski resorts for you to enjoy. Appalachian, Sugar and Beach all offer skiing and tubing and Hawksnest offers tubing. There are some ice skating rings as well and locals can enjoy cross country skiing at the cone manor when it snows.

SUMMER FUN

Summers here in the mountains are truly magical! Look forward to 80 degree days and cool nights in this lush and rain forest like climate. Everything you can see in all directions is as green as can be.

There are endless hiking trails withing minutes in every direction. We have waterfalls to see and even jump off. There's the New River which you can spend the day floating down in a tube or canoe while catching fish! We also secretly have some of the best trout fishing in the country (don't tell anyone though).

Downtown Boone offers a cute and charming shopping experience while downtown Jefferson offers some amazing antique finds.

Drive down the Parkway to catch endless overlooks that take you to Grandfather Mountain.
